Therapeutic ~ The wearing of Baltic Amber around the neck is an ancient remedy for teething. It is the fossilized sap of prehistoric conifer trees, left to harden for 45-50 million years around the Baltic Sea.
As amber is a resin, not a stone, it is lightweight and comfortable to wear for children. When the Amber is warmed against your child's skin, it releases its natural oils, containing succinic acid. Which, as the body absorbs it, help to alleviate pain and inflammation in a child who is teething.
In Rudolf Steiner philosophy, amber is thought to help strengthen the life force of a child, whereas amber from the Baltic region in particular is believed to have a positive effect on the blood stream.
Safe ~ Each amber necklace is strung on thick, natural silk cord, either black or gold in colour with a knot tied between each bead. This reduces the risk of choking or lost amber in the unlikely event of the necklace breaking.
As an added precaution, these necklaces are fastened by a sterling silver parrot clasp and safety ring. The safety ring is designed to open if pulled firmly. So if your child becomes caught on anything, the ring will simply open and the necklace will fall off, avoiding possible strangulation and leaving the necklace intact.
The necklaces are 33-35 cm in length. The beads are smooth polished and rounded for your childs comfort, approximately 6mm x 5mm in diameter.
The necklaces are not designed for chewing. But can be gummed upon by babies with no teeth (supervision is recommended).

Terms & Conditions ~ Returns: Your necklace can be exchanged if it breaks due to faulty workmanship within two weeks of receiving it. I shall cover the postage costs. You can also exchange your necklace if you do not like the colour or need a different length, as long as the necklace has not been worn. In this case, you will pay the postage cost. Note: A longer necklace will cost extra.
Payment and postage: I will post after your payment has been cleared. I endeavour to post within 48 hours of receiving your payment, but reserve the right to take longer. Insuring your parcel is highly recommended, as I wont be responsible for lost or damaged parcels in the mail.
